Every Muslim aspires to get closer to Allah, and it’s one of the most beautiful things ever. However, those who observe their surroundings and are curious about the secrets of life are more likely to build a strong bond with Allah. To be honest, it’s all logical. 

Think of it like you’re born on the earth, and your life is temporary. On the other hand, life is a moving train that everyone boards and leaves at their written time. Now what keeps the train of your life moving in the right direction? 

The teachings of Allah and His Rasool mentioned in the Quran offer the right path for living a pious life. Life will be meaningless without understanding and reading the Quran, and you’ll go astray. So, to earn rewards from Allah in this world and the hereafter, you must learn and understand what the Quran says about Islam. 

Also, you must learn how to lead a good life like a true Muslim. By doing so, you’ll eventually get closer to Allah. Here’s what Allah says in these verses to observe the surroundings and feel His existence.

“Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day and the ships which sail through the sea with that profits men, and the water (rain) which Allah sends down from the sky, then gives life with it to the earth after its death and scatters in it all kinds of moving creatures and the veering of the winds and the clouds made subservient between the sky and the earth, there are Signs for a people who are mindful.”

[Al-Baqarah 2:164]

Quran Reading & Spirituality

The Quran is the Holy Book of God, and you can learn it online from the comfort of your home. That said, as a child when you hear about God, you ask your elders, Who is God, and where is He? But when you grow up, and begin understanding the Quran, you get the answer in Quranic verses.

Allah says in the Quran:

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.”  [Qur’an 2:186]

﴿ وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ﴾
[ البقرة: 186]

Indeed, Allah is near us, always. Reading the Quran awakens our soul and makes us curious to know our religion in-depth. Moreover, reading the Quran with understanding its meaning is the only way to live a righteous life and eventually, you’ll get closer to God.

Turn to Allah

Allah says in the Quran to call him, and He’ll answer your prayers. 

He said, ‘I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know.’ ”   [Qur’an 12:86]

قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Peace of Heart

Those who remember Allah and have faith in him, their hearts are at peace.

Allah says in the Quran:

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.”   [Qur’an 13:28]

﴿ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ﴾
[ الرعد: 28]

Live for Allah

As Muslims, it’s our duty to live for Allah and obey him. Reading and understanding the Quran teaches us to obey our Lord as this world is temporary and in the end, we shall return to him. Following the teachings mentioned in the Quran will improve our imaan and strengthen our bond with Allah.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًۭا تُرْجَعُونَ فِيهِ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ

‘Be mindful of the Day when you will ˹all˺ be returned to Allah, then every soul will be paid in full for what it has done, and none will be wronged.” (Q, 2:281)

In conclusion, Allah loves His creation more than seventy mothers, and He says put Me in your heart, and I’ll put you in mine. So, the more you learn the Quran, the more you get closer to Allah. It’s as simple as it is!
